Flu Shots in your home
Each year, 36,000 people in the United States die from influenza and related complications…over 90% are 65 years of age and older. While the availability of the "flu shot" is widely publicized, a significant portion of the elderly, which is considered the "high risk" population, has no means of getting to their doctor, or a flu clinic. Nightingale Home Healthcare (Indiana), Nation's TOP Elite provider of home health care services, three years in a row, recognized this disturbing crisis and accepted the challenge to correct the problem. Beginning at the start of flu season, Nightingale will administer the flu vaccine in the homes of individuals who are unable to leave their residence due to age or disability.
Beginning September 15, a licensed nurse or a pharmacist will administer the in-home flu vaccine at no cost to any traditional Medicare patient or veteran. Additionally, others who are unable to leave their home, and are not Medicare beneficiaries or veterans, can receive the vaccine for a fee of only $32.00 ($27.00 if the shot is administered at one of our offices or at a Nightingale sponsored community clinic).
To take advantage of the in-home service, call toll-free (866) 334-7777 or fill in the rsvp form. Flu Vaccination is also provided Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 10:00AM at all of our offices.
Providing these types of services complies with Nightingale's mission… improving patient outcomes while preserving his/her dignity, privacy, and independence.
