Open House at Kokomo, IN

Many of Kokomo's senior residents know more about Nightingale and what we have to offer because of an Open House, staged August 29 at the local UAW Hall. An estimated 150 residents responded to our invitation to the event, while others just dropped in after hearing a local radio broadcast on WWKI.

Some of the attendees came to hear of our services for future care for themselves, while others were interested in learning what we could provide for an aging parent or loved one. Most everyone participated in the free health screening, which included a blood pressure check, oxygen saturation, and weight check. However, many of them opted for the weight check prior to indulging in the delicious pulled-pork menu that was served by Parrett's Catering.

Four vendors were present: MP Total Care, Anodyne, At Home and HomMed who provided brochures and information about in-home monitoring, diabetes care, and Anodyne Therapy. After lunch, attendees enjoyed over 20 rounds of bingo and had fun winning door prizes. Attendees were smiling as they left the Open House, armed with informative Nightingale brochures, logo cups and valuable health screen information. Many new potential referral contacts were made, and the staff enjoyed getting to know Kokomo residents on a one-on-one basis in this intimate setting. Human Resources also reported that the event was a success, as they discovered several potential recruits.

Thanks to the excellent teamwork of Nightingale's employees, the Kokomo Open House was a definite hit. The employees who to contributed to the success of the event included: Melinda Jewell, Danielle Crisp, Dan Hollis, (King BINGO caller), Leiah Etherington, Pat Kirby, the "HR Team" of Karen Moore, Stephanie Sanders and Joe Hine, our "Amazing Marketers" . Pam Kissel, Courtney Copeland, Heather Adams, and Stephanie Griffin. A big round of applause is extended to these Nightingale employees who take the concept of "team" to heart!
