Nightingale Home Healthcare Opens New Headquarters on Rangeline Road
Carmel, Indiana, April 2, 2007 - Nightingale Home Healthcare officially moved to their national headquarters at 1036 S. Rangeline Road, Carmel, Indiana on March 31. Dr. Dev Brar, President of Nightingale Home Healthcare, said the move could not have come at a better time, because the staff had already outgrown the temporary leased facilities at Hamilton Crossing. "I want to emphasize that this move would not have been possible without the faithful support of our clients and our dedicated employees. I am extremely grateful to each and everyone," said Brar.
The contemporary four-story building that includes underground parking contains state of the art office accommodations and a fitness center for the employees. Some space on the first floor was purposely left vacant to allow for future growth. Expansion plans call for a hospice center, and a senior daycare and resource center.
Nightingale opened its doors in 1996 to offer home care services to patients in Central Indiana. They had four patients and three employees. Today, after servicing 10,000 patients the company provides services to over 1200 patients in Indiana alone, and has agencies in Indiana, California, Nevada, Minnesota, and Illinois.
Dr. Brar credits the company's growth to two major factors: Putting the client first and offering innovative technology. "We stress to every employee that the needs of our clients come before anything else," says Dr. Brar. "We believe in what Mahatma Gandhi says, 'A Customer is the most important visitor on our premises.' We have proven many times over that we stand firm on this philosophy. For example, last fall we offered to take flu shots to the homes of all at-risk people, regardless if they were clients of Nightingale. During a recent blizzard, we made sure that none of our patients missed their daily care even if it meant our employees had to shovel their way to the home. In addition, we stay abreast of all new technology that helps people to remain in their homes, which is where all of us would rather be."
When it comes to technology, Nightingale paved the way in 2001 by being the only agency in the state to offer in-home telemonitoring, a device that allows patients to transmit vital signs measurement to a health care professional. Nightingale followed this technology by adding Phototherapy for pain control, PT-INR results at home, Med-Partners for medication reminders, and more recently a Personal Emergency Response System.
These same state-of-the-art standards are carried out in the new facility as well. Nightingale's field staff is equipped with the latest technology of handled PCAs to document visits and provide efficiency, which allows more time for direct care of the clients. Nightingale's office staff has the latest in office equipment, serene décor, and dining facilities. All of the conference rooms are equipped with data ports for field staff charting to handheld PCAs and for note taking during educational in-services. Video conferencing is available for conducting joint meetings with outlying Nightingales offices.
The move to the new quarters coincides with preparations for Nightingale's Annual Open House, set for April 25. "We extend an invitation to all area residents who are interested in learning more about home care. Our HR department will also be on hand to accept applications or discuss employment. The Open House, which will be held from 11 am - 5 pm. will provide a great opportunity to get to know our caring, courteous, and professional staff," says Brar.
