Flu Shots in Your Home

October 5th, 2006 (Carmel, IN) -- Flu season is fast approaching; however, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has recommended that immunizations not be given before November. Nightingale Home Healthcare is following the CDC guidelines and will provide flu vaccine to those who are unable to leave their homes due to age or disability. Nightingale Home Healthcare will provide in home flu vaccine to those meeting the criteria. This service is provided free for traditional Medicare patients and veterans, and is administered in the home by a licensed nurse.

Any one who desires the vaccine and is not a Medicare beneficiary will be charged $30.00. This amount can be paid by cash or credit card. This service will be available in a major portion of Central Indiana from Monticello to Bedford (check the web site for a detailed list) from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. throughout the month of November.

To take advantage of the home-administered flu shots, you will need to call Nightingale Home Healthcare at (toll free) 866-334-7777, or go to the website at www.HomeCareForYou.com where you will find a form to fill out to request your vaccine.

Dr. Dev Brar, President of Nightingale Home Healthcare said, “Offering the flu vaccine in the homes of the people who cannot make it to the clinics, grocery stores or other places will hopefully help many to take advantage of this offer. We want to make sure that especially the ‘high risk’ population (people over 65 or those with chronic illnesses) is not exposed to the perils of influenza. This is the least we can do as a Home Health Company.”
