Students find…hard work "pays"
Hitting the books earns students of Nightingale employees more than just top grades because Dr. and Mrs. Brar have established a monetary reward program for hard work in academics.
In honor of their son's first birthday, Dr. and Mrs. Brar established a reward fund for all the children and grandchildren of Nightingale/Aspire employees. At the end of a school year, any child who earned all A's on his/her report card received a "Kulyan Brar Certificate of Excellence" award and a monetary gift in the following amounts:
- Grades 4-5, $50
- Grades 6-8, $75
- Grades 9-12, $100, and
- College (under grad), $125
Dr. Brar who is an advocate of excellence in education, said he hopes the award will encourage young people to develop strong study skills, which are invaluable for achieving good grades. "While their peers are 'goofing' away study time, maybe the thought of earning a little extra spending or savings cash will inspire our employee's children to study first and play later," said Dr. Brar.
